"Love grows, one by one
Two by two and four by four
Love grows 'round like a circle
And comes back knocking at your front door"
As part of my partnership with GE, I received coupons for my GE light bulbs. All opinions posted about my GE Lighting experience are my own.~Carol Johnson
Bethany Christian Services served 1,991 children in foster care last year. Their mission is to manifest the love of Jesus Christ by providing quality social services to children, young people and their families. They strive to work with anyone in an unplanned pregnancy. They also work with those seeking to adopt and provide services for domestic infant & embryo adoption, as well as, international adoption. BCS provides free interim care to infants and toddlers while a woman decides whether to place her child for adoption or parent the child.
My parents used to work with Bethany to take in foster children several years back. Personally seeing the children and how happy they were while they were in my parent's home was amazing. These children had gone through a world of hurt and they just needed someone to show them love. Bethany Christian Services has touched the lives of so many children and I wanted to help them out by donating some items to them that they might need.
I am participating in this month’s Champions For Kids SIMPLE Service Project. I hope to encourage you to participate in your own SIMPLE Service Project and share the GE Energy Smart Challenge. Keep on spreading the love as we move into the holiday season and beyond! One donation might seem small but if everyone stood up and did the same just think of the impact we could make.
I took my three children ages 2 through 8 to Walmart so that we could pick out our light bulbs and other items we wished to donate. We found a lot of great items including a package of GE energy smart spiral bulbs. My son found some cookies that he thought we should gift to our charity. You can see my entire shopping trip in my G+ album.
After I arrived home and put the kids to bed I went online. I searched out the GE Lighting website to check out the GE Energy Savings Calculator. I found out that the light bulbs that I chose could end up saving Bethany Christian Services up to $600 over their projected lifetime of up to 11 years. My little donation didn't seem so small any more! Stay tuned for my post about our donation coming up very soon.
