Breaking Into Healthy Snack Habits is Easy #SmartSnack
Usually I just skip eating snacks during the day. In fact I usually will skip breakfast and lunch both. It's a bad habit and it has not helped me out in the least. I need to break that. Eating and choosing healthy snacks is important. I am constantly pushing my children towards snacks like carrots, celery, broccoli, bananas, apples and anything that seems healthy. If it was up to my kids they would snack on ice cream, cheese, donuts and candy. Even my husband is guilty of unhealthy snacking, he loves his pecan butter cookies.
Since August we have been trying to replace the junk with healthy snacks. I always keep vegetables and fruits that are easy to eat right where the kids can reach. Convenient snacks like Del Monte Diced Apples & Pears in extra light syrup with caramel flavor are nice to keep in the pantry. Del Monte fruit cups are shelf stable, easy to store, healthy and the flavors they carry make my kids want to eat them. The new Del Monte fruit cup flavors are so perfect for fall and winter and can be found at Walmart. When I am craving a slice of fattening pie I can open up a bowl of Del Monte instead. At just 60 calories per serving they are the wise choice for snack time for my whole family. I also know that Del Monte fruit cups are gluten free and they don't contain any high fructose corn syrup.
My daughter decided to take a Del Monte Apples & Pears with caramel flavor fruit cup to school this morning. She has snack time every day and this will replace her usual cheese or peanut butter crackers. Even our 2 year old is learning healthy snacking habits. Today he had a fruit cup instead of eating his usual cheese and pepperoni slices. The new fruit cup flavors are tasty!
