The other day I was looking through the fridge. The kid had been begging me for a snack in between lunch and dinner. It was getting bare in there because I hadn't gone grocery shopping for a couple of weeks. I did happen to see a container of the new cream cheese Cool Whip frosting in there though. I had tons of apples in the drawer and saw an opportunity to make a delicious snack for the kids and I.
I dug around inside the fridge a bit more and found a small container of vanilla yogurt. I decided to mix the frosting and yogurt together, whipping it until it was light and fluffy. Next up was peanut butter. It would add some protein and my kid love the stuff. I sprinkled in some fresh nutmeg and cinnamon and it was perfect. The kids gobbled up their apples in a flash along with this dip! You are going to love it. If for some reason you have a peanut allergy I'm quite sure some cashew or other type of nut butter would work well. I even think that apple butter could be quite delicious mixed in.
Cool Whip Frosting Dip Recipe
1 tub New cream cheese Cool Whip Frosting (thawed in the fridge)
1 cup vanilla or plain yogurt
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (we prefer Skippy) or any other nut butter, maybe even apple butter
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
Whip everything together until light and fluffy. Serve with sliced fruit. We love fresh apple slices with ours. Enjoy!
